Here at Native-Obsession, we are proud to present this stunningly beautiful vintage Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace. This later mid-century necklace was expertly handcrafted by an unknown Navajo Artist..... Made with the highest level of craftsmanship, out of heavy gauge sterling silver, and some of the most gorgeous Morenci Turquoise weve seen all year... Its safe to say this isnt your average everyday squash blossom necklace. All 23 stones are original and in mint condition as they rest securely in straight edge bezels. Each stone is different and unique in its own way. Massive amounts of gold and silver pyrite shimmer in the light along with highly sought after spiderweb matrixes....
And of course, the obvious deep blue color that Morenci stones are famous for. The blue color hues are bold and vividly stunning.Because the stones are so beautiful the Artist created this necklace with a simple design, so as not to draw any attention away from them. There is no need for fancy silver work when stones of this nature are present..... I honestly cant say enough about these stones. The Naja is large and features 9 of the 23 stones. Each stone rests over a thick plate of silver in a raised straight bezel surrounded by twisted rope. The design is simple with a single curved silver rod supporting the stones as they wrap around in a circle along with a single stone dangling at its midpoint. The 14 blossoms coincide beautifully with the Naja following the same simple design.
Each blossom has a large triple fluted bottom made of strong heavy gauge silver. The flutes cant be easily bent out of shape due to them being made from the heavier gauge silver.... The entire necklace is strong and sturdy from end to end. The hand-made bench beads are in great condition and strung on a braided fox tail chain. This necklace is very heavy at 254 grams and the Artist made sure to use a thick and sturdy chain.
The hook and eye clasp is sturdy as well and in perfect working order. Keep in mind this is not a piece that should be worn regularly.
Its a very large and very heavy piece. More than likely it was made for special ceremonies or to be displayed...... Definitely a statement piece and conversation starter!! This stunning work of Art is not only a piece of jewelry, but a tangible asset as well....
Its one that will last for years and be handed down for generations. If you are a collector of fine Native American jewelry then this item is a must have!!! Be the new owner of this authentic piece of American history to cherish and enjoy it for now.... And hand down to a loved one in the future.
