Vintage 1950s Coin Silver Mercury Dimes Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace 477gr. For your consideration is this mag nificent vintage Navajo handcrafte d coin silver Mercury Dimes and turquoise squash bl ossom necklace, circa 1950s/60s era. This sensational squash blossom necklace features ten blossoms made from genuine hand domed Mercury Dimes and twelve co in silver spacers that were set with natural turquoise nuggets.
A fabulous double tube naja set with natural turq uoise cabs finishes the necklace. These were hand strung with 15-16mm bench beads made from Mercury Dimes into a single strand that closes with a hook-eye clasp. The necklace measures approx 28 1/2 long overall and w eighs a substantial 477 grams. It has a nice old pawn patina that has not been cleaned.
Unmarked, as was typical of these old pawn pieces from that era. Guaranteed to be Native American made. Will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. It is conceivable that Raymond w as the maker of this necklace, bu t we don't know for sure. The last o wner traded with the Chief in the 1970s and has a letter attesting to that fact.
